Kimberley Bennett. Kimberley is Vice President of a real estate company
in Southern California managing and marketing commercial real estate for institutional
owners. Kimberley is a landscape designer, photographer and world traveler interested
in global cultures. Her interest in the environment and its impact on children
began during a four-year period of living off the land on Kauai, Hawaii, USA
in her late teens.
Ben
Brown MD, Board Member. Ben is the founder and director of the Burmese Refugee
Care Project. He has returned to the Thai-Burma border every year since 1989
to train medics, work with mothers and babies, and support orphan children's
health projects. Ben's interest in preservation of the environment came when
he was in second grade, living on a goat farm and making forts in the redwoods.
His expertise is in working with culturally diverse groups around a need to
creat a plan of action. Ben practises family medicine in Point Reyes, California.
Maralyn
Teare is a licensed marriage, family and child counselor in private
practice in Southern California and clinical instructor of psychiatry at the
University of Southern California School of Medicine, Anxiety Disorders Clinic.
She lives in Ojai and is a member of the prestigeous New York Academy of Sciences,
a recipient of the American Biographical Institute's Medal of Honor,
and a member of the Society for Scientific Exploration. She is also an accomplished
poet and has appeared three years running in the anthologies published by the
National Library of Poetry.
Richard
Elen is the WebWeaver for the Kids4Earth project. A creative technology
consultant, sound engineer and record producer, Richard has been involved in
the environmental scene for some years and produces the Web edition of Eco,
a magazine produced by environmental NGOs from the UN Climate Treaty talks.
He also looks after the Climate web pages for the Institute
for Global Communications (IGC), the Internet Service Provider for the peace,
environment and human rights movements which hosts Kids4Earth.
Leona
Graham is the Program Director at the
WILD Foundation. With a background in the Canadian university system, Leona
was program director at the internationally-renowned Findhorn
Foundation in Scotland, working closely with its co-founder, the late Peter
Caddy, for several years. Leona was co-ordinator of the Third World Wilderness
Congress which was held at Findhorn. She has been active in the environmental
movement for many years and has run for political office in England on an environmental
platform.

Tiva
Jo Herbert, Age 7. Tiva is the inspiration for the Childrens' Environmental
Constitution. She was born in Washington State with an affinity for the environment
and its future. At the age of 3, she moved with her family to Kenya, East Africa
and furthered her passion for wildlife and the wilderness under the guidance
of the trusted family Samburu Warrior. Currently, Tiva is going to school in
Corona Del Mar, California. Tiva's credo is: "The future relies on us."
Tana
Herbert, Animal Behaviorist. Tana was born and raised with wild animals
as a modern-day Mowgli. She spent 20 years working with them for the motion
picture and television industry. Tana is a subject of several books including
her own, When You Fight the Tiger. She is an actress, stunt woman, naturalist,
safari guide and mother to three beautiful children. She lives between the United
States and Kenya, and is co-founder of the Wildlife
Awareness Foundation.
Toni
Ringo-Law, Chair. Toni initiated the Kids4Earth Children's Environmental
Constitution project. She is a best-selling author, animal behaviorist, naturalist,
renowned wildlife artist, African tour guide...and the Hostess of Pet Peeves,
a Lifetime cable show. As the co-founder of Africa USA, at one time the largest
private zoo in the world, Toni pioneered a revolutionary method for working
with exotic animals, called "Affection Training."
Vance
Martin, President, Wild Foundation. Vance has worked internationally
for nonprofit environmental concerns since 1971 and was the senior editor of
five books on the environment. He currently edits the periodical International
Journal of Wilderness. Vance has won numerous awards for his environmental
education and conservation work and is recognized in Who's Who in the West
and Who's Who in International Organizations.
Beverly
Manning Mills, Marketing/Consultant for Teachers' Resource Materials. Beverly
is the Education Outreach Director for the Adventures in Education Program with
Knotts Berry Farm. Programs include: Our Early American Heritage,
Foundations of Freedom Trilogy, Energy in Motion, Thomas A. Edison's Workshop
and Minerals of the Earth. She created the Children's Storytelling Theater,
Smokey's Animal Friends, Indian Trails Storytellers, and Music and Dance of
Ancient Mexico.
Thomas
("Tim") N. Mills, Writer/Director. Tim is an experienced writer, director,
and producer. His productions include: Original Plays: Independence Now!,
A Rising Sun, A Voice for the People, and Trails West, Salute to Old
Glory, Energy in Motion, The Ultimate Ride, A Christmas Carol, Gift of the Magi,
and Mr. Jefferson's Declaration. In recent years, he has concentrated
on special projects for Knotts Berry Farm Productions.
Marilyn
Mosley, Educational Consultant/Writer. Marilyn is a speaker, author,
and director of Laurel Springs School.
Under her leadership, Laurel Springs High School received the United Nations
Global 500 Award, the President's Environmental Youth Award, and the Earth Prize
for their inspiring environmental videos and workshops. Ms. Moseley has spoken
at the Earth Summit in Brazil, the United Nations Youth Forum, and the United
Nations Summit on Children. She was a keynote speaker at the 1995 Global 500
Forum International Conference in Malaysia.

Ariana
Richards (17), Student Writer/Performer. Ariana has won the Best Young Actress
Award twice from International Youth in Film. She is best known for her role
as Lex in Jurassic Park. Her new film, Princess Stallion,
will be released this spring.

Bethany
Richards (14), Student Actress/Singer. Bethany has appeared in numerous
television and film roles and is preparing to become a singer.
Darielle
Richards, Teacher, Writer, and Producer. Darielle has participated in over
20 productions, including Jurassic Park. She worked with children as
an educator in Montessori, elementary, and secondary education.
Marilyn
Ryan, Technical Advisor/Choral Director. Marilyn is an owner of Deja Vu
Productions, a non-linear video production company, and founder of Ojai Birth
Connections. She is also a children's choral director and has led river-rafting
expeditions with children.
Nan
Tolbert, Wilderness Event Coordinator. Nan is a registered nurse and
sensitive-birth advocate who has assisted families in childbirth since 1974.
As co-director of a retreat center bordering wildland in Washington, she encouraged
many children to discover the wonders of Nature.
The
Center for International Cooperation is an NGO established by Patricia
Jepsen Chuse to provide a forum for international peace and cooperation.
Ms. Chuse has been a true supporter of children around the world. She developed
the Earth Treaty process and the Children's Peace Gardens in Israel and Palestine.
She works closely with indigenous peoples around the world.
Laurel
Springs School. In 1990, Laurel Springs students and director Marilyn
Mosley won the United Nations Global 500 Award and the President's Environmental
Youth Award, and were nominated for a Nobel Earth Prize for their video, We
Can Make a Difference. The students have gone on to create three environmental
videos, three plays and workshops, an environmental dance concert, and a book.
They are now spearheading the Children's Environmental Constitution.
The
World Wilderness Congress is the only ongoing, international forum open
to the public for presentation, discussion, and action on issues of sustainable
living, development, and environmental concerns throughout the world. It has
met on six previous occasions in as many locations: South Africa (1977), Australia
(1980), Scotland (1983), the United States (1987), Norway (1995) and India (1998).
Participants in the WWC have included heads of state, environmental and finance
ministers, scientists, bankers, businessmen, educators, artists, psychologists,
religious leaders, tribal and indigenous people, and more.
